Track & Field opens season at Finn Pincus Invitational

SALEM, Va. — First-year head coach Chris Easley took the University of Pikeville track & field team to its first indoor event of the season at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College over the weekend. The Bears competed in a pair of events, including the women’s 1,000-meter run and the men’s 800 meters. In the women’s 1,000, Victoria Dyson crossed the finish line in three minutes and 33.15 seconds to finish in seventh place out of nine runners. On the men’s side, UPIKE’s Trenedy May posted a time of 2:27,28 in the 800 meters which was good for 38th place. The Bears return to action on Friday at the Camel City Indoor Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
