A UPIKE student completed an internship at Voice of America in Washington, D.C. from the end of January to mid-May. Devon Sgubin is a psychology major with a minor in communication. He participated in the Washington Center Internship Program. “To be in the heart of democracy during such a shaky time after the presidential election was one of the most interesting experiences of my life. This internship offered an opportunity to work in a real-world environment for a well-established organization all while continuing to get my degree. I would definitely recommend this awesome opportunity to all students,” said Sgubin. Voice of America is a federal multimedia news outlet that is broadcast throughout the world. Sgubin attended leadership classes, resume building courses, a class about humanitarian law, and international organizations.
