On the weekend of Sept. 15-16, UPIKE’s Film & Media Arts program attended the Louisville film festival (LIFF) to show an award-winning documentary. This documentary, featuring the history of the Breaks Interstate Park, has won several awards and the favor of critics. “What had happened is we submitted the documentary at film festivals around the country, and I think it’s currently played at four or five right now. It got into LIFF,” said Program Director of Film and Media Arts, Andrew Reed. Opportunities for travel and workplace experiences arise often in the program. “We’re helping students learn how to make films, get into film festivals, build a career, and learn the fundamentals of general film production,” Reed said. Reed is also looking towards the expansion of the FMA program.
