The Washington Center visits campus

A representative came to the University of Pikeville Thursday, Sept. 29, to talk to students interested in attending the Washington Center and Internship program..
The seminar will be held Jan. 2-14 in Washington, D.C.
This year’s seminar will focus on media, politics and advocacy, more specifically how social media has had a newly found impact on the presidency.
Junior political science/history major Dalton Hatfield, who attended the seminar last year, said, “This is a great opportunity for students of any major to experience a wonderful city with wonderful people. I encourage anyone to apply for this amazing opportunity.”
The Washington Center also offers internship opportunities for students. The internships focus on skills the applicants would want to develop, while allowing them to work in Washington D.C.
If you would like to know more about the application process, feel free to contact Chair of the Division of Social Sciences, Dr. Nancy Cade at ncade@upike.edu.
