Pastor speaks on forgiveness

“Revolution of Forgiveness” was the main topic Thursday, Sept. 21 during a Skype session with Rev. Felicia Parazaider. “Revolution of Forgiveness” was organized by Rob Musick, chaplain, for Peace and Nonviolence Week. Parazaider discussed the steps in order to forgive someone and made it clear that it was difficult to forgive, but that it was necessary. “I was impressed by her practical approach. She made it understandable and gave practical steps to follow. She also understood the difficult nature of forgiveness,” Musick said. Parazaider shared her journey about how she came to forgive someone that abused her for years and how that abuse made her turn to alcohol and drugs. Eventually, she received an email from the man that abused her. She then acknowledged that if he needed forgiveness she didn’t have the right to deny him that. This became her life work which was radical forgiveness and how peace is not denying justice, but acknowledging it.
