A new production comes to the UPIKE stage this weekend. UPIKE theater will perform Tennessee William’s The Glass Menagerie, directed by Kim Willard. The show will run Sept. 21-23 in Chrisman Auditorium. The play starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for general admission, and $3 for anyone with a UPIKE ID. The Glass Menagerie was Tennessee William’s first successful play and marked his rise into becoming one of Americas most well known playwrights. The play centers around protagonist Tom, and his recollection of his mother, Amanda, and his sister, Laura. The play is based on Tom’s memory, so he warns that what the audience sees may not be exactly what happened. “I am excited to be a part of this production, and I ask that everyone come out and support us,” senior theatre student Allie Chaney said.
