Adrian Smith, junior, currently in his sixth semester at the University of Pikeville, is a film and media arts major, former member of Lambda Sigma honor society, and a native of Pike County.
Smith is currently the head of video marketing for the UPIKE film festival being held April 10-11, and he enjoys participating in the events such as the film festivals and UPIKE U-Parodies held here. The reason Smith decided to major in film and media arts is that it’s something he’s always enjoyed, and he thought it’d be really cool learn more about it and make himself have better understanding while improving his skills of filming in hopes of accomplishing great things as Steven Spielberg has done.
Smith believes the program at UPIKE is “a step in the right direction for anyone interested in film or news production. I recommend everybody at least take one of the FMA courses offered here.”
During his free time, Smith makes videos for his YouTube channel “Sopada” and spends time with the friends he’s met during his time here.
Although Smith’s time at UPIKE isn’t finished yet, he is excited to put to use what he’s learned while majoring in film and media arts at UPIKE when he graduates in December 2016.
