Kyle Wilson is a Mt. Vernon, Ohio, native who currently resides in Pikeville, Ky. Bowling brought Wilson to Pikeville.
In 1980, during his teenage years, Wilson founded the Junior Tournament Bowling Association (JTBA), which is now one of the strongest junior bowling establishments in the country. Aside from still running those events, Wilson is also the men’s bowling coach at UPIKE and has been for the past 11 years.
Wilson’s accomplishments include: appearances to the national tournament five times, two Mid-South conference titles and coach of the year honors which has led to some athletes to go onto Team USA and international teams. Wilson’s biggest tournament of the year is coming up on March 13-15 in Addison, Ill., where he and the rest of the UPIKE bowlers will look to book their ticket to Wichita, Kan., to take a stab at the national title.
Wilson and the rest of the UPIKE community is behind the men’s bowling program as they look to continue their success.
“If this group of gentlemen perform at the potential I know they are capable of doing, the success we can achieve is endless,” Wilson said.
