WYRD Club gathers

The WYRD Anime and Gaming Club met in Record Room 106 for Friday, Feb. 13 in the small close-knit group of friends met the comfort of the Record Memorial art rooms to discuss upcoming events and various activities coming up.
President of the WYRD Club, James Alexander, called the meeting to put emphasis on an upcoming Chinese New Year event.
“We will be watching “Jackie Chan Adventures” in honor of the Chinese New Year. which happens on that day,” Alexander said.“We will also be having concessions as well as having your name and birthday written in Chinese. Admittance is free for everyone.”
The Chinese New Year event was held on Feb. 21. The WYRD Club also has made other plans for the future. In April, they are having a marathon of the movie works of Hayao Miyazaki, the director of famous Japanese films such as Spirited Away. Also in April, there will be a gaming event, during which people can bring their own video, board, and card games to play.
“It’s a great way to relieve stress before finals,” said Joseph Parks, vice president of the WYRD Club.
The WYRD Club meets every Friday, unless otherwise noted, at 3:30 p.m. in Record 106. Updates for club activity can be found on posters hung around campus and on the club’s Facebook page.
