Chapel lead by Musick

Tuesday, Nov. 11, Campus Chaplain Rob Musick spoke about the week’s events. He opened with prayer.
Wilma Bailey, guest speaker, talked about how she went to the eye doctor and he told her he could help her see better, but she thought she could see just fine. When she went back to her office and looked across her room, she could read the titles of books. Then, she put on her glasses, and she could really see them clearly. “How do I know what I can’t see clearly?” Bailey said. She asked herself, “What is it I’m not seeing?” Bailey read throughout Genesis, and she was surprised at what was there.
She saw that there were stories about sex and violence, and she discovered that she didn’t really see what was behind it. Bailey spoke from Genesis 16 and how Sarah was looked down on because she did not have a child. She took her maid helper and gave her to Abraham, her husband, so he would impregnate Hagar and then it would become Sarah’s.
Bailey told the group to humble themselves because we don’t know the blessing that will come, and we may not see things how they really are. We may read, look, or see something one way while really if you put your glasses on, you see it differently.
Chapel is held every Thursday at 11 a.m. in the campus chapel. There is praise and worship, and some verses from the Bible are read and discussed.
