UPIKE attends Spanish festival

Dr. Ella Smith Justice, associate professor of spanish, took her class to the Lexington Latino Festival that lasted for three days and happens once a year. They had different types of artifacts and bird whistles that made different sounds, the style of their clothes were also unique. There were different styles of dancing including salsa dancing. The Spanish festival was a great way to show off the heritage and culture. “Compared to eating regular food, I got a chance to eat real Spanish food for the first time. It was really good. The spices they used were amazing,” sophomore Sean Haynes, said.
