UPIKE students attend MERGE

“What if the starting point for a relationship with God is trust?” Zac Hill said. Hill is normally the drummer for the worship band at Trinity and Merge, but for last week’s Merge lesson, he was the preacher.
Hill came off the stage after drumming and gave the lesson about how to get the starting point of a relationship with God. Hill shared a personal story about his relationship with God and how his life has been since he made that starting point.
Merge brought in around 35 students and faculty to worship God on Wednesday night, Sept. 19. One of those students was Joey May.
May, sophomore, has been coming to Merge since it first started. He also has helped Trinity out with getting stuff ready for the nights on campus.
“I spent a good amount of time with Trinity harvest last semester, and I know they do an amazing job with sharing the love of Jesus and bringing an awesome power of worship wherever they go. I love God with all of my heart and being able to just pause from all the busyness during the day can really make a huge difference, and I recommend it for anyone who just needs a breather, needs a restart, or just wants to learn more about who Jesus really is,” May said.
Merge started out as just Trinity last semester but changed the name to Merge during the summer. The university first approached Trinity asking for a service. Trinity knew UPIKE was a part of the community, so they wanted to be a part of that.
If you would want to be more involved with Merge, other than just showing up on Wednesdays, you can ask one of their leaders about their mentorship programs. This way you can help out with everything they do.
