Wing & Sing was held in the student lounge Thursday night, Sept. 20. It was held by the Campus Activity Board (CAB) for all UPIKE students. Austin Helms, secretary/treasurer of CAB, said Wing & Sing has been held on campus for about two years now. “We wanted karaoke, but wanted food with it so we just kinda threw it together, and that’s where the name came from,” he said. Helms said about 100 students showed up which was more than he expected because of study hall. Hannah Absher, junior, attended Wing & Sing in hopes of some “free food & good entertainment,” she said. Absher said she would never sing herself, but wanted to watch one of her friends sing. Hailey Nicholas, sophomore, sang “A Milli” by Lil Wayne. Nicholas said her favorite part was the free wings and is “for sure” planning to attend Wing & Sing again. “I love it and think it should be an every Thursday night thing,” said Nicholas. Luckily for Nicholas, Helms said that CAB tries to host something at least every other Thursday.
