On Tuesday, Sept. 4, the Psi Chi honors society held its first meeting to determine their new officers for this year. President Brooke Messer, Vice President Tori Breeding, and Treasurer Zack Hill were all elected into new positions for Psi Chi. Every semester Psi Chi hosts a free movie night which will include food and snacks on Nov. 29. Psi Chi recruited students at the student involvement fair. Undergraduate and graduate students majoring or minoring in psychology or a closely related program at an institution with a Psi Chi chapter may join if they meet the following requirements. Students must complete at least 9 semester hours or equivalent of psychology courses with a minimum 3.0 GPA average for psychology courses, complete at least 3 semesters or equivalent of full-time college coursework (for undergrads only), earn a cumulative GPA in the top 35 percent of their class year (sophomore, junior, senior) compared to their classmates across the entire university or the college that houses psychology (for undergrads only). If you’re interested in joining, see Dr. LeAnne Epling in ARM 427.
