The UPIKE men’s tennis team fell 7-2 to Georgetown. Unfortunately, the Bears had to give Georgetown 1 doubles loss, and 3 single losses before the start of any matches. So right off the bat, the Bears were down at a 4-0 disadvantage, but of the games that were played the series ended 3-2, with Georgetown on top.
Georgetown’s doubles top seeded pair of Ryo Takeda and Tristan Nosek barely pulled off a win against Bailey Horne and Andres Alvarez with a 9-8 victory. The two wins for UPIKE were under the singles category, Alvarez defeated Nosek for one of UPIKE’s victories, followed by Devon Sgubin taking a win over A.J. Berk to end the matches.
UPIKE’s overall record now is 3-8 overall, and 1-5 in the Mid-South Conference.
