UPIKE Students attended the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Mobile, Ala. on March 6-10. Chaperoned by Kimberly Willard, assistant professor of theatre, the students embarked on the 10-hour ride to the SETC Professional Screening Auditions.
The conference lasted for five days in which time students auditioned and performed at different events, such as a play where students wrote, directed, and practiced a production that would be performed in just 24 hours. Students also met with and talked to representatives from graduate schools.
“I really enjoyed this year’s theatre conference. I feel like I got to try something new with directing a 24-hour play,” said Beth Jervis, junior.
