Fortnite February starts at UPIKE

Fortnite February signups are open to every student that lives in Wickham Hall. The goal of this event is to group random players together into squads and tally up multiple wins. The more wins that a group receives, the more entries they receive to win prizes.
“I’m excited to get this off the ground because I see how popular Fortnite is on campus, so I wanted to use it as a way to bring people together. If it’s successful we might look to make this a campus-wide event at some point,” said Teddy Woods, senior at UPIKE.
Fortnite Battle Royale is a free game that anyone can purchase on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Marketplace. It’s a “Battle Royale” game, which means 100 people are placed onto one map, and it is every man for himself. Gaming YouTubers and streamers have used it to really boost their popularity, as everyone looks for the best gameplay to watch.
There are quite a few students that have signed up across all platforms already, but since a squad consists of four people, there are not enough teams to make it a true competition. Players that are commuters to UPIKE even want to get in on the action.
“I was walking through Wickham and saw the signup sheet, and I would love to compete. I love Fortnite, and I think I could really make some noise if I was able to play,” said Logan Tackett, freshman at UPIKE.
Fortnite February will start as soon as more players sign up for the event. Players who are interested in signing up need to go down to the first floor of Wickham Hall and signup on the green signup sheet beside of Woods’s dorm room.
