Wolfe, Hedgespeth lead Women’s Bowling at Cincinnati Collegiate

CINCINNATI — With the help of two top-10 individual finishes, the University of Pikeville women’s bowling team collected third place overall at the Cincinnati Collegiate Classic on Sunday. The event consisted of nine team games, with five bowlers competing each game, for one total score. UPIKE posted a pin fall of 8,576 to take third place, while Lindenwood (Mo.) took the team title with 8,918 pins and Urbana (Ohio) finished second with 8,850. Pikeville’s top-10 finishes include Jessica Wolfe in seventh place with a total score of 1,829 and high score of 243 in the fifth game. Megan Hedgespeth joined her in 10th place with a total score of 1,794 with a high game of 239 in her first effort of the tournament. Campbellsville’s Crystal Land finished with the individual crown after tallying a pin fall of 1,894. UPIKE returns to the lanes in the 48th Annual Hoosier Classic, a Tier 1 event, in Indianapolis on Feb. 17-18.
