Wednesday, Nov. 8, the UPIKE volleyball team traveled to a restaurant called the Mariah in Bowling Green, Ky. for the season sports banquet. The Mariah hosted a dinner for all teams in the Mid-South Conference followed by an awards ceremony. This is the first time the Mid-South conference hosted the volleyball banquet there. Half of the team were given academic awards including Amari Eadie, Autumn Meade, Hannah Nyguen, Mikayla Frye, Noelani Simpson, Kiana Eldridge, Brooke Pickler and Noelani Simpson, sophomore, who was noticed as second-team all conference. “I’m proud of our accomplishments as a team and as individuals. We all worked hard pushing each other throughout the season on the court and in the classroom,” Simpson said. Eadie, senior, was awarded the Champions of Character award. “I was honored to be selected for this award, without my teammates and coaches none of this would’ve been possible. Being apart of Upike’s volleyball program for the past four years has had a substantial impact on the building of my character, which will guide me through the rest of my life.”
