Women’s bowling wins tournament, Men finish second

The Men’s and Women’s bowling teams took on the Martin Methodist Baker Classic Oct. 28-29 in Smyrna, Tenn. The women led the tournament by over 500 pins with a total of 7,676 total pin fall. The men were in first place for the first 36 games, but Martin Methodist came back in the last four game 773-693 and ultimately won the tournament. The women’s JV 1 and JV 2 teams won first and second place in the junior varsity division with a total pin fall of 7,233 and 7,015, respectively. “I think we played amazing this weekend, and I can’t wait to see us go up from here,” said senior Morgan Lantvit. The men’s JV team came in first with 7,359 pins over Martin Methodist’s JV team with 7,028 pins. The tournament format was 40 baker games. A baker game is where 5 individual bowlers join to bowl 1 game. Bowler 1 bowls frames 1 and 6, bowler 2 bowls frames 2 and 7, and so on. The Bears are ready to take on their first Tier 1 event, the Brunswick Southern next weekend in Marietta, Ga.
