Hanna Case was named the new dance coach for the 2017-2018 school year. As a new mother, Case was ready to take on a role that began a new chapter in her life after assistant coaching the last three seasons for a team for which she once danced.
“I always wanted to keep my hands in the program. Once the position opened up, I knew it was my time to step up and lead the team that I have always been so passionate about,” said Case.
Case took over for Jill Darby who had coached for the last five seasons, and took it to competitions/ championships known as the National Dance Association (NDA). Case, as an assistant coach, took the team to nationals in the 2017 spring semester and brought home the titles of 2nd and 3rd in the nation for hip hop and team performance.
The start of a new season as head coach, Case sees a lot of potential with the new team and wants to push them to the limit and watch them flourish.
“I really want to keep improving and keep growing,” Case said.
A lot of teams will wish and want, but never take the necessary actions to reach those goals. The team motto is, “What do we want what are we going to do about it?”
“Overall I’m excited to see what this year has in store for us. I hope to make UPIKE as well as my team proud,” Case said.
