Teachers talk

The education department held a meeting Thursday, Oct. 27 where clinical 1 students and professors answered any questions that other education students had about teaching. All clinical 1 students were required to attend along with all of the education professors. Students mostly asked about the Praxis tests and what the clinical 1 students expected and didn’t expect. One of the clinical 1 students who attended was Samantha Wilson, senior. When asked to give some advice to students about to take the Praxis, she answered, “Study! Relax, and put your whole thought into writing out your answers.” There were about 20 students in attendance including elementary education major Becca Webb, sophomore. She was there asking questions about how the clinicals work. Clinical experiences are the first exposure to observation, tutoring, assisting, small group and whole class instruction in schools. “Being able to ask all the questions I had made me feel a lot more comfortable about taking the Praxis and starting clinical 1,” Webb said.
