In Richmond, Ind., the UPIKE women’s volleyball team had a tough weekend ending with set record of 5-7 and overall record of 10-4. Although this weekend didn’t go as planned, the Bears have had a successful season so far by making history in beating Shawnee State for the first time. Amari Eadie also set a career high and school record with 8 in-game blocks against Midway University. “I’m very excited about this season and how it’s turned out so far. We’ve had a rough start these past few years, and to finally see us getting over the hump is amazing and something to look forward to this year. You win some and you lose some, and the ones you lose are a pain, but it’s how you jump back that determines your success,” Eadie said. Eadie is a returning junior who never thought she would be the same after she missing all of last season due to ACL reconstructive surgery.
