UPIKE seeks to keep state grants

Recent state education budget cuts have led to the creation of a program to try and keep funding called AID4US.
It is a campaign for students to contact state legislators about keeping funding for state funding through the Kentucky Tuition Grant and College Access Program.
“Funding for Kentucky state grants is more crucial than ever before for our Kentucky students with the growing cost of education and economic hardships, students need all the financial assistance possible,” said Judy Bradley, director of student financial services.
At UPIKE, there are two student ambassadors in the program sophomores Billy Cochran and Haley Damron. They are going to Frankfort Thursday, March 10 to meet with state legislators and talk about the importance of state scholarships.
If Damron or Cochran approach you and ask you to fill out a postcard about how state financial aid has helped you, do so because these are sent to the state legislators.
If you have any questions about the program, you can contact Bradley via email at JudyBradley@upike.edu.
