What’s Up Wednesday pumps up the Bears

“What’s Up Wednesday” came with an exciting twist recently. Not only did the office of student success provide food but multiple types of entertainment as well.
Wednesday, Feb. 11, student success hosted a peprally at the East Kentucky Exposition Center. UPIKE students and faculty congratulated both the men’s and women’s bowling teams for being named Mid-South Conference champions, as well as, showed their support for upcoming men’s and women’s basketball teams’ conference games.
Things were shaken up a bit when the pep rally switched into UPIKE’s “lip-sync idol.” Students picked their favorite song and took the spotlight during this competition. Like every competition, there can only be one winner, and junior Chad Conway took home the gold.
“My favorite part of the pep rally was when everyone was cheering in the middle of my performance. It was cool to know that everyone was enjoying themselves,” said Conway.
Topping off a Wednesday night of fun, the UPIKE women’s basketball team, dancers, cheerleaders, and students learned a dance to Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk You Up.”
The dance was videoed and later broadcasted at the basketball double header Saturday. If you missed the games and weren’t able to see the video, you can check it out on YouTube.
