737 under new management this semester

The University of Pikeville’s weekly worship program, 737, is coming back this semester but with a few different faces. If you’ve ever been to one of the services, you’ve seen worship leader, Jeremy Tackett, rushing around making sure everything was in order. However, this year Tackett will not be leading the program because he has taken a job as director of communications for Christ Church in Raleigh, N.C. With his absence, the program was left to find new guidance.
Initially, the program looked to Campus chaplain, Rob Musick, as an interim pastor to lead, but he had different plans.
Musick explained, “Rather than just having one person be the teacher, we’ll have a variety of people now.”
He wants the program to be a group effort and for it to be student-oriented. Others involved in leading 737 will be (student success advisor) Sarah French, student success advisor, and UPIKE Trustee Reed Potter.
Along with the new leaders of the program, 737 is going to rely on students around campus to give their opinions about the program and what they can do to make it better.
Musick said, “We really want student input and student volunteers. We have an opportunity to make significant changes.”
The next 737 service will be the annual Super Bowl party this Sunday, Feb. 1 starting at 6:30. Free refreshments will be served. If any students have any questions or suggestions about 737, feel free to contact Musick at robertmusick@upike.edu.
