The Communication Honor Society, Chi Omicron Mu, recently held a meeting and decided to participate in an Angel Tree Project to give gifts to needy children. The society is helping the young children at Mullins Elementary. The group is working with Psi Chi, the psychology honor society.
Members received a paper ornament with a short list of information about the child including: whether the child is male or female, clothing size, shoe size, and their favorite toy. The most popular toy among the girls was as expected, Disney’s Frozen.
Senior Alexis Vescovo said, “I am so excited to participate in the Angel Tree Project. It’s always important to give back, especially during the holidays!”
The Communication Honor Society will be at the school Wednesday, Dec. 10 to watch the children open their presents.
Associate Professor of Communication Chandra Massner said, “We will be giving them Christmas. Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and their elves will make an appearance!”
