UPIKE cross country teams run at Disney World

UPIKE’s cross country teams spent part of last week at the happiest place on earth.
The UPIKE men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Disney World classic.
Saturday, Oct. 11, the University of Pikeville women’s cross country team finished 22nd out of 29 teams at the Disney Cross Country Classic presented by New Balance. Sabrina Elliott led the team and finished with a time of 21 minutes and 46.49 seconds to lead the Bears in the 5,000-kilometer run. Behind Elliott for UPIKE was Molly Frank in 111th place with a time of 22:10.68, Kasi Watson in 146th place and Leanna Bryant in 166th place.
The men did not place, but they did have two individuals that ran well. Adam Pinks finished 158th in the 8K run and Joshua Martin finished in 172th crossing in 39:50.52.
UPIKE returns to action at 10 a.m. on Oct. 25 at the Midway College Invitational in Midway, Ky.
