UPIKE welcomes guest vocalist in concert
0Join the University of Pikeville in welcoming guest artist Vincent Hale on Monday, April 14.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. in Chrisman Auditorium located in the Armington Learning Center on campus.
Hale, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., is pursuing a master of music in opera/music theatre at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). He received a bachelor’s degree in music vocal performance from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Hale recently made his professional debut as Hud in Hair and Bert Healy in Annie with the McCloud Summer Playhouse. At SIUC, he has been seen as Tom Collins in RENT, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime and Frank in Die Fledermaus. He is currently preparing the role of Sterling in Radio Golf by August Wilson, to be performed in late April. This summer Hale will be travelling to Shakopee, Minn., to perform at Valley Fair Amusement Park.
Prior to the performance, Hale will speak to students during music appreciation and choir classes on campus. The performance is free to the community.
