UPIKE signs top basketball recruit Kornegay

The University of Pikeville has recruited yet another great guard to bring major heat to the men’s basketball program. The Bears are bringing in junior Kevin Kornegay’s brother, Justin Kornegay.
“This should be exciting,” said Kevin.
Justin is from Atlanta, Ga., and is currently a senior at Norcross High School. He is one of the top heavily recruited point guards in the state. He transferred from Milton High School where he won a national high school title.
Justin is 6’1” and 175 lbs. with a crafty left hand ability and a nice, muscular athletic frame.
With Pikeville losing seniors Elijah Justice and Josh Whitaker, bringing in a freshman point guard to start from the bottom will build the team for the next four years.
On the other side, his brother plays the same position, so this will be a sibling battle. Justin was recruited by Tennessee Tech, Butler, Georgia State, and UNC Central but signed with the Mid-South Conference Champions, UPIKE Bears.
“I love the UPIKE basketball program, and I’m excited to come in and play some solid minutes and earn a spot as a freshman,” Justin said.
