UPIKE offers ballet class for credit
0Need an extra class to enroll in for Spring 2014? UPIKE is now offering Ballet class.
Ballet is a great way for athletes to improve skills in their sport. It can provide them the foundation for the development of joint strength, postural alignment and precision body control.
In this class, athletes will tone muscles, develop body awareness, and improve strength, flexibility, coordination, and dexterity and agility. From the five basic positions from which all ballet moves emanate to the language of ballet, there is plenty to master.
There is no previous dance experience necessary to sign up for this class. Male and females are both encouraged and welcome to take it.
Students earn physical education credit and there is an optional performance opportunity.
This course is taught in the UPIKE dance studio by Peggy Davis, longtime instructor at the UPIKE School of Dance. Talk with your advisor and see if Beginning Ballet can fit into your schedule for Spring 2014.
