Community Trust Bank VP, alum to speak at UPIKE
0Larry Bee Forester, vice president of the Central Kentucky Region of Community Trust Bank, will be the featured speaker for the University of Pikeville’s “Speakers and Leadership Series” hosted by the Coleman College of Business. Forester will speak on the topic “How to Succeed After the 99,” a reference to the 99 steps that lead to the university. The event is set for Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. in Chrisman Auditorium, Armington Learning Center.
A 2005 graduate of Pikeville College, Forester started his career with Community Trust Bank as a trainee in the management program. After completion of the program, he secured a retail lending position at a branch in Lexington, Ky. Forester was promoted to commercial lender and later assistant vice president before becoming vice president of the Central Kentucky Region.
A graduate of the Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking, Forester serves as president of the Lexington Urban League Young Professionals, executive director of Commerce Lexington, board member of the Access Loan Committee with Commerce Lexington, treasurer of Lexington Community Land Trust-Board and director of East High Street YMCA.
In 2011, Forester received the University of Pikeville Rising Alumni Award and was inducted into the university’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Along with his teammates, Forester was inducted as an honorary member of the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.
