Thursday, Nov. 16 and Friday, Nov. 17 made for cold evenings on the Garfield House lawn as UPIKE’s Humanities 390 class presented final performances of “No Mortal Can You Trust.” “We’ve worked really hard on this production. All semester, really. So a little cold weather can’t stop us,” said Blake Bray, a senior at UPIKE who played several roles in the performance. This theatrical recreation of Kentucky murders was adapted by students from stories told in Richard Underwood’s CrimeSong, through Amanda Slone’s guidance. Under the direction of Kimberly Willard, students acted out these Appalachian tales through the musical genre of the ballad. Though no admission was charged, the class was appreciative of all donation as they begin budgeting for future productions.
