Chemistry Week lasts until Friday, Oct. 27, giving students the chance to participate with hands-on fun, career discovery, and more.
“Every year a theme is chosen, and this year it is ‘Chemistry Rocks’,” Kathleen McCann, assistant professor of chemistry, said.
Prizes will be given away to students, such as rock candy and mugs.
Tuesday, Oct. 24, students will explore the chemistry of rocks and minerals as they are able to chat and ask questions to experts on a live webinar in Armington 213.
Wednesday, Oct. 25, students will conduct a diet soda fountain experiment in the Benefactors Plaza.
Thursday, Oct. 26, a self-carving pumpkin activity will be held on the Derianna lawn.
Friday, the last day of Chemistry Week, will be spent in Benefactors Plaza as students make their own ice cream.
