On Saturday, Jan. 28, University of Pikeville student services hosted a blacklight volleyball tournament at the University of Pikeville Gymnasium for its students and staff to promote student involvement as well as student and staff interaction. For this event, the school purchased all of the lights used and will be using these for many future events. The tournament was able to gather 15 four-person teams that competed in a bracketed event. Student services hired a local DJ and student named PJ Sowards. The tournament came down to an outstanding match between teams “I Hit That” and “How Bow Dah” ending in a 15-13 thriller, with team “How Bow Dah” emerging victorious. The team consisted of Tanner Fiser, B.J. Finesse, Lebon Fisher, and Joey Wilder.
