The Zeta Omega Chi sorority provided a Thanksgiving dinner to the woman’s WestCare homeless shelter Thursday, Nov. 20. There was stuffing, turkey, ham, rolls and various vegetables served. Aramark donated the food brought to the dinner.
Senior and president of the sorority Alexis Vescovo said, “There was a great turn out for the dinner, and we were so happy to be able to provide this dinner. I really enjoyed talking to the women and hearing their stories. I also want to thank Aramark for donating the food.”
“It was such a pleasure to be able to give back to the community in such a way that can really impact the lives these women. The women there were so thankful for the dinner we brought. It was great to see their smiling faces,” senior and vice president Danielle Smith said.
The sorority left the remaining food and offered to help box it up and clean the kitchen before leaving. The women graciously declined the offer.
One woman said the sisters had, “done enough by just coming over and talking to us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for bringing this delicious food!”
Zeta Omega Chi plans to re-visit the shelter around Christmas to serve another dinner.
