The Social Sciences Division at the University of Pikeville celebrated graduating seniors as well as honoring members of the Speech Team, Phi Chi, Phi Alpha Theta, and Chi Omnicron Mu at the annual Evening of Honors on April 12. With the theme “Taking on the World” and a travel background decorating the HPE 7th floor, many seniors felt the nostalgia during the night. Dean Tom Hess opened by congratulating all of the seniors for their efforts and contributions to the University. With a heartfelt send off, everyone could feel the sadness in the air as it overturned with pride as well as success.
The awards began, starting with Communication and ending with Sociology. There was a single award for each major honoring the most distinguished senior in that major. The winners were: Communication, Rob Rundle; Psychology, Devon Sgubin; History, Austin Kranzman; Criminal Justice, Camron Parsley; and Sociology, Kara Lewis.
