Assistant film and media arts professor, Andrew Reed, has been accepted to screen a documentary that he made at the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The purpose of the film festival is to showcase work that people who operate the festival thinks it’s worth watching. The 2018 Myrtle Beach International Film Festival starts Monday, April 16 – Saturday, April 21.
Reed’s film, The Home for Ward Baby Dolls, is a documentary about a forest ranger and his wife who collect old and discarded baby dolls.
“When I found out that I was accepted into the festival, I was overjoyed. I got to work on the project with a former student of mine, Adrian Smith, but due to a work conflict, he can’t make it. However, I am proud of the work that we have done,” said Reed.
Reed is planning on taking FMA students who are interested in going. If anyone would like to attend the festival or is interested in the film and media arts program at UPIKE, please contact Reed at his email, andrewreed@upike.edu or visit his office at CTC 125 during his office hours.
