Find your voice at COM week

This week, the Communication Program is hosting the 4th Annual “Find your Voice” Communication Week for 2018. There will be plenty of events for students to attend and learn more about the communication discipline. There are also some fun events and activities to help others planned. The week kicked off on Monday, April 9 with the annual “Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series.” Alumna Misti Dixon, a physician recruiter, came to campus to discuss her career. Later that evening, the Speech Team presented a “Showcase” to highlight what they do in competitions and discuss how students may get involved Tuesday, April 10, there will be “A Suitcase Drive for Foster Kids” starting at 11 a.m. in the Coal Building. Campus individuals are invited to bring small suitcases and bags to give to needy children in foster care. Tuesday night, the honor society will be holding a movie night fund raiser, showing Coco, at 8 p.m. in Chrisman Auditorium for a $1 donation. Wednesday, April 11 will be the third annual epic lip sync battle for What’s Up Wednesday, where students, faculty, and staff will be performing against one another to win prizes. This event is always fun because you can hang out with your friends and have a snack that is provided. To wrap up the week on Thursday, April 12, the last event, “Will you find your Voice in COM?” will be set up at 11 a.m. in the Coal Building. Students may stop by the information booth to learn more about the program. The Communication Programout invites you to find your voice this week!
