BUG service asks important questions
0By Tori Breeding
On Monday, April 2, Joey May, freshman, asked the question, “Why do you wake up every day?” May read from Matthew 25, speaking about helping others during the weekly BUG meeting.
May told a heart-warming story about picking up a man on the side of the road. Something told him to stop for this man, and as he got in May’s car, it began to rain. The man was a former Marine, on his way out of rehab, going to surprise his family. He asked May to take him as far North as he could. The pair parted ways two hours away.
May also spoke about God’s plan for you and how you can change your plan for yourself. May came to UPIKE to pursue a career in nursing, but a leadership opportunity in the ARMY brought him to the conclusion that nursing was not in God’s plan for his life. May is now majoring in criminal justice, and he plans to take his talents and help his community and country.
“BUG was the first group of people to open their arms to me on a personal level. It has been such a blessing to have met this group of people, and I can’t wait for the future experiences we are going to share,” May said.
BUG meets on Mondays in the Chapel at 8:30 p.m.
