On Feb. 21, Kentucky Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton spoke as part of the Coleman’s College of Business Leadership Series. Hampton discussed entrepreneurship skills and how to apply them to every aspect of student careers. Hampton is the first African American to hold a state wide office in Kentucky and only the third African American female Lt. Governor in the country. She is also a former officer in the United States Air Force. Hampton explained how she used her desire to be an entrepreneur in every career she has held and now how she hopes to take it into the government. She encouraged students to try their hardest and to be curious and entrepreneurial in their careers. “I liked it. It was helpful. She told us to go for a mission and follow through with it, and you’ll be successful,” junior Austin Helms said.
