0Written By Billy Cochran
On Jan. 26, the UPIKE chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) held its first meeting of the semester on the third floor of the Administration Building. PBL members voted to replace graduated chapter officers for the rest of the academic year spring 2017. Their new officers include President James Brooks, Vice President Jessica Frazier, Treasurer Zane Maheu, Secretary Nicole Hall, Reporter Chandra Hunley, Co-Historians Maria Musgrave & Collie Taylor, and Parliamentarian Donald Anderson. PBL has proven to be one of the most effective fundraising organizations at the University of Pikeville which is ultimately aimed at supporting PBL’s involvement in philanthropy activities and partnerships such as the March of Dimes, their national philanthropy partner. They must also be able to fund the clubs socials as well as their competitions in the spring at both the state and national levels. Members also planned upcoming campus events. for national FBLA-PBL Week Feb. 6-10 and a Valentine’s Day bake sale which will be held on Feb. 14. Two notable events scheduled for on campus is Wednesday, Feb 8, when they host What’s Up Wednesday. PBL will have a meeting that focuses on career development opportunities and have a possible guest speaker.
