UPIKE students get artistic for show
0Written by Brian Dunn
Three students from the University of Pikeville have their art displayed in the Weber Art Gallery located on the second floor of Record Memorial. The exhibit, entitled “Reflections,” features the work of Kimberly Hylton, Andrea Paige and Marianalda Ralston. The works featured were created for art classes including 3D Design, Sculpture 1 & 2 and a special topics course in bookmaking, spanning over two years. The entire exhibit was designed and created by the three artists. “There’s a lot that went into it,” said associate professor of art, Petra Carroll. “They had to explore and learn how art works with other pieces, learn structure and create their exhibition. Anyone who likes art should definitely come see the work they’ve done.” Although a cutoff date and reception are yet to be announced, “Reflections” is planned to be open though January. The exhibit is open to everyone. For more information, contact PetraCarroll@upike.edu or PatriciaKowalok@upike.edu.
