UPIKE helps Haiti
0Written By Cory Fields
Just because the semester is ending, that doesn’t mean everything is over, as some students have more work left to do. During the break, 16 UPIKE students are traveling to Haiti to begin building a second school in Jacmel, Haiti. They will be leaving Dec. 30 and will be returning Jan. 6. They need more supplies for their efforts to educate the community. They will take just about anything they can get, but are looking for school supplies, sporting equipment, tools, and summer clothes. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 29. According to Collan McCoy, this was, “(the) most life changing experience,” he has had thus far. This will be the fourth time McCoy has participated in this experience. If you would like to participate in these trips, they will be returning to continue work next year. For more information, contact Rob Musick at robertmusick@upike.edu.
