JV Baseball shows improvement against Alice Lloyd

The University of Pikeville Junior Varsity baseball team played two games against Alice Loyd Wednesday, Sept. 27, winning the first game and ending in a tie the second game. The first game the Bears won 5-2 with Austin Schroerlucke throwing six innings giving up two runs. Patrick Schloss hit a triple bringing in a run for the baseball team. It was a great day for Schloss, and the Bears compared to previous games. Schloss said, “I was happy with my hitting a triple for the first game and glad the team was able to get a win.” The second game ended in a tie, 7-7, against Alice Loyd. Schloss came in with another triple while Rob Rundle came in pitching in the sixth inning to close the game. Rob Rundle said, “I came in with the bases loaded and was able to hold them shutting the game down with no runs scored.”
