The UPIKE women’s lacrosse team scored its first win of the season over Truett-McConnell. The final score of the game was 10-8. Shelby Campbell made the first goal within the first ten seconds of the game. She scored a total of six goals while Sabrina Elliott and Taylor Bussell both made two apiece. The team fell short at Reinhardt 19-5. Mandi Hord had a total of 17 saves while being shot at 43 times. Hord was named independent co-defensive player of the week during spring break. Bussell made two goals while Elliot, Campbell, and Paige Chapman each scored one. Lacrosse also lost to Ave Maria with the score 18-5. “Even though I came back with an injury, I’m proud the team left it all on the field in my home state,” freshman Selena Marino said.
