Sonia Smith, director of career counseling, helped define her mission the first week back to the New Year and spring semester during a career week. The mission was to reach out to students to let them know she is on campus to help amplify their future. Smith helps students with resumes, interviews, building connections, and tips for the professional world. The weeklong dedication resulted in getting to know students at each event. The most successful event of the week was at the What’s Up Wednesday: Mocktail Party Etiquette with an attendance of 120. The event helped students navigate through a professional evening. Smith also helps with resumes. She said, “Folks just need to do it.” There are a series of Tuesdays in the library for the event called Resume 101. The next event is Feb. 2 at 7-8. Smith is located in the Administration building in the Student Service office for any resume, interview, or professional skills help.
