The University of Pikeville presented a concert on April 14 in Chrisman Auditorium with guest recitalist James Meade, who played an hour-long concert with his guitar. Meade currently lives in Cincinnati, but is from Allen, Ky.
Playing nine different songs on his guitar from five different composers, the music Meade played dates from to 1583 all the way to 1939. He played different kinds of music such as classical and romantic music.
Meade plays concerts all throughout Ohio and Kentucky. Right now, he is in the process of recording his first professional album. He is still currently planning concerts for this year.
“It was a different type of music that I didn’t think I would like. He played it well like it was his own music. It was interesting what one person could do on a guitar,” freshman Amari Eadie said.
