UPIKE women’s soccer made two outings last week Monday, Nov. 3 and Friday, Nov. 7, with Monday’s game against Georgetown being senior night and Friday’s against Campbellsville.
Nine fourth-year players and the rest of the Bears stepped out onto the field at the Bob Amos Complex Monday night and battled against Georgetown. It was a close game at halftime with the Bears only down 2-1, but ultimately, they fell to the Tigers 3-1.
Friday’s away game against the other Tigers in the MSC, Campbellsville, started with the Tigers scoring four goals in the first half. The Bears got on the board with one goal in the 17th minute of the game, but the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Women’s Soccer Championship ended with Campbellsville on top 6-1.
This season was the Bears’ best season since 2008 with an overall record of 8-9, and a Mid-South Conference record of 2-5.
