Volleyball falls on senior night

Saturday, Nov. 6, UPIKE volleyball came extremely close in all four sets, but in the end, Berea came out on top of the University of Pikeville volleyball team 3-1 on senior night with sets of 25-23, 23-25, 25-20 and 25-22.
The match was the final tune-up for the Bears before they head off to the Mid-South Conference Championship Nov. 14 in Campbellsville, Ky. No. 7-seed UPIKE is scheduled to take on No. 2-seed Georgetown at the Powell Athletic Center.
Senior Haley Esquivel put on one final regular-season show with 13 kills to lead UPIKE, which hit .255 for the match. While the offense was efficient, the Bears hit into 19 service errors.
Sydney Morris dished out a game-best 27 assists in her final volleyball outing of the regular season, while Caitlyn Pfaadt found 13 digs and Amari Eadie wound up with five total blocks.
